Garden Makeover

Before

My client had recently moved into her bungalow and the garden was looking tired, the grass was parched and the trees at the back dominated. There were very few plants in the garden and limited place for sitting. She was keen to develop the garden into a special place for her to relax in the sun or shade and to potter and learn more about gardening.

After

  • The design was based around being a calming influence with a soft shade of gravel used as the basis to complement the grey paving on the patio.
  • A rill was inserted by the patio to provide the sound of water as well as reflecting the sun’s rays.
  • The pergola in the corner provided welcome shade and somewhere to sit in the evening.
  • The planting provides a Japanese feel with peonies, irises, acer tree and a Japanese cherry tree in the centre circle.
