My clients had recently moved into a large bungalow with an extensive rear garden that had been laid to lawn and was surrounded by fencing. They wanted to have different places to sit and view their garden with easy access given the husband’s limited mobility. They also wanted the patio outside their home to be a great place to entertain friends and family, and to sit and watch the local wildlife being very keen on wanting birds in the garden.
After
This garden needed something of everything given its size and lack of any features. Sweeping borders were created with steppingstones running down the middle so that they could be viewed from within as well as from afar.
Two different patio areas were created – the patio by the house was surrounded by raised beds and ponds while the corner patio had a large radial pergola with a wisteria and jasmine to provide a wonderful display of flowers and scent.
The two patios were linked by a curved path with chains of climbing roses interwoven with clematis leading you from one space to another.

“Having moved into a new build bungalow with a large empty back garden, I knew we needed help. From our first meeting with Amanda, we knew we had picked the right person. Amanda’s knowledge of plants was extensive and her hand drawn designs were inspiring. Amanda managed the whole project from start to finish and was always on hand to deal with any issues. In fact, it went so well, Amanda is now doing our front garden.“
